8-Week Material Handler position

Port Arthur, TX

Industrial Material Handler needed to assist in a machine shop.  This is a short-term (8-week) assignment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

* Must have experience with overhead crane, forklift, loading and unloading trucks, packaging and
  palletizing parts for shipment, basic computer skills for scanning and simple data entry, and ability to
  read pick tickets, packing slips, and labels.

* Physical requirements require ability to lift up to 50 pounds, able to stand, walk, and bend for
  extended periods, and comfortable working in a warehouse/shop environment.

* Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and matching part numbers is needed along with attention to
  detail when handling parts and paperwork.
* Prior manufacturing or machine shop environment experience preferred.
* Work expectations include reliable attendance and punctuality and adherence to safety procedures and
  PPE requirements.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, matching part numbers)
  • Attention to detail when handling parts and paperwork
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 40–50 lbs (with or without assistance)
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse / shop environment

Equipment & Systems

  • Forklift experience
  • Crane experience
  • Experience using pallet jacks
  • Experience packaging and securely palletizing parts for shipment
  • Experience loading and unloading trucks using a forklift
  • Basic computer skills (scanning, simple data entry)
  • Ability to read pick tickets, packing slips, and labels

Client will provide all needed training and submit forklift qualification paperwork to CS prior to employee operation of equipment.

WORK HOURS/PAY SCALE

Mon-Fri 7:30 a.m.--4:00 p.m.
Dress Code PPE
Pay $18.00 p/h

Candidates MUST:

* Be a Texas or Louisiana Resident at time of interview and hire in.

* Submit a "Clear" drug screen and background check

* Submit a valid Driver's License and Social Security Card.
