IT Support Specialist
The IT Support Specialist is a full-time non-exempt hybrid position. The schedule includes some days at the Bridge City. TX office and other days remote. Candidates applying should live in the Southeast Texas area or within driving distance. Starting pay depends on the experience of the candidate. The IT Support Specialist will work directly with the IT Systems Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day support, configuration, and troubleshooting of customer hardware, software, and accounts. This includes desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, user accounts, and related business systems via support tickets, phone, and chat. The IT Support Specialist will actively use in-house ticketing software to track work performed, prioritize tasks based on urgency, and document time worked throughout each day. This person will also be required to travel onsite to perform tasks that cannot be completed remotely.
Responsibilities include providing technical assistance on the configuration, setup, delivery, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems, hardware, and software. Provide remote support by identifying issues, walking users through solutions, and following internal troubleshooting guides. Manage user accounts, permissions, licenses, and access across systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and business applications. Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning, account setup, and access configuration. Image and configure desktops and laptops using company approved tools. Coordinate with vendors to procure hardware, software, or support services. Teach or guide customers regarding hardware of software usage as needed. Respond to security alerts and escalating issues according to company procedures. Maintain accurate documentation of recurring procedures and solutions in the knowledge base. Follow up with users to verify problem resolution. Maintain education and professional development appropriate for the position.
Qualifications: Minimum of three years' experience in a technical support role. High School Diploma required; 2-year technical degree preferred. Industry standard certifications including Comp TIA A+, Network+, or Security+. Microsoft certifications such as Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals are preferred. Experience with Windows Server required; Linux experience is a plus. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer. Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds), bending, standing, and walking. Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
Remote Workspace Requirements: A dedicated work area that is safe and free from hazards. The workspace must have adequate ventilation, lighting, and smoke detectors. The workspace must be suitable for the effective performance of job duties and free from excessive noise and distractions. A reliable, high-speed internet connection is required.
