Material Handler

Orange, TX

Our client is looking for a mature, reliable person to join their team.  The Material handler would work at locations in Lake Charles and Vinton, LA, as well as Winnie, TX. The candidate would use their own vehicle to travel to each location.

                                                           Key Responsibilities:

Receiving and Unloading: Verifying the accuracy of incoming deliveries, including quantity and quality, and unloading shipments. 

Material Handling: Moving materials within the facility using various equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.  Large and small tools, Large and small Equipment  ( Industrial Tools and supplies ) 

 Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting stock checks, and ensuring proper storage. 

Picking and Packing: Selecting, identifying, and packaging outbound materials for shipment.
 
Order Fulfillment: Pulling materials to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.  

Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining material handling equipment, including forklifts and other machinery. Once certified per OSHA standards.  

Safety Compliance: Following safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 

Documentation: Recording material movements, documenting orders, and maintaining accurate records. 

Communication: Communicating with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth operations. 

Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

*Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy materials for extended periods. 
*Organizational Skills: Ability to keep inventory organized and track material locations. 
*Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately verify quantities, quality, and material movements. 
*Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to a team environment. 
*Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for inventory management software and data entry. 
*Safety Awareness: Understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
*Forklift Certification: In some cases, certification in forklift operation may be required. 
*Clear drug screen

**Work hours: 40 hours per week.

**Pay is $17.00--$19.00 per hour.
