We are looking for the perfect Church Custodian to add to our staff for 90 days, in Orange, TX. The candidate must be very compassionate and enjoys serving others.

Summary:
The Church Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep and attractiveness of the church facilities and grounds. This role is vital to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all congregants, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to the mission of the church.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of all church areas, including worship spaces, classrooms, restrooms,
  hallways, and kitchens.
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures, and ensure windows and doors are cleaned regularly.
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and carpet cleaning as needed.
- Ensure that all restrooms are stocked with supplies and kept in sanitary condition.
- Move furniture, such as tables and chairs to prepare for a variety of scheduled events, and be available to
  clean up after each event.
- Prepare classroom areas for activities.
- Prepare baptistery for use.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping tasks, picking up debris, and ensuring the grounds are tidy.
- Report any hazardous conditions or safety concerns to the church administration.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; reorder as needed.

- Ensure that all cleaning supplies are used safely and stored properly.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- May require working evenings or weekends, particularly during special services or events.- Occasional lifting
  of up to 50 lbs may be required.
- Work will largely be performed indoors, with some outdoor responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be a Texas or Louisiana resident at time of application and hire in.
- Must have a valid ID or Driver's License and Social Security Card
- Previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and moving heavy items up to 50 pounds.
- Submit a Clear Background Check and Drug Screen

**Work hours:  Mon., Tues, Thurs 8:30 a.m.--5:30 p.m./  Wed. 2:00 p.m.--10:00 p.m./ Fri. 8:00 a.m.--1:00 p.m.

**Pay is $16.00 per hour.
