Minute Clerk

Lake Charles, LA

We are currently accepting resumes for our Minute clerk position. Minute clerks are responsible for handling evidence, records, warrants, notices and summaries of court proceedings.  Court cases includes cases where partied are suing other parties.

Domestic court includes family matters such as divorce and custody.  Minute clerks attend court and are seated at the front of the courtroom, and return after court to their workstations to process the documents

Excellent typing skills and attention to details are a MUST, as the clerks minutes are permanent record.  

MUST have professionalism, be well organized, trustworthy, and detail oriented. Must be able to perform many tasks at one time, possess the ability to work in a high pressure fast p-aced environment, and be self disciplined in reacting to courtroom testimony.  

Legal experience is very helpful but not required . High school diploma is required

Dress code is courtroom appropriate 

Regular office hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Mon - Fri , some minute clerks are required to report to court as early as 7:30 am and may work past 4:30, as dictated by the court.

This full time position  pays $14.00  ( 15 week temp / probation period $ 13.00 )
